Following more than a year of negotiation and planning, the Edmond City Council approved several agreements in Summer 2024 to move The Uncommon Ground Sculpture Park from conception to construction. The 62-acre art park along historic Route 66 at E. 2nd St. and Coltrane Rd. is being donated to the public by the French Family Charitable Foundation. This art and community space will be a major attraction that further builds on Edmond's reputation for public art and create a tourism destination in time for the centennial celebration of historic Route 66.

The City of Edmond is providing a $10 million forgivable loan to fund park infrastructure improvements at E. 2nd St. and Coltrane Rd.,a and will also also fund public infrastructure in the area including water utilities and street improvements. The city also approved agreements with the foundation and the Fine Arts Institute for maintenance and operation of the park. Edmond Alliance has been a key supporter of this innovative and transformative public-private partnership.

The Uncommon Ground Sculpture Park will be transferred to the Edmond Park Conservancy Trust upon completion for future generations to enjoy.
